Betty has landed!

We collected Betty at Pisa airport on Saturday, for a few days.  Unfortunately, as someone cheerily said to us  "you've brought the Scottish weather with you" - it's been a bit gloomy for a few days, but yesterday was fine, and we set off to do the "Metato Walk" at Sillico - just up the valley.

The woods were alive with  mushroom hunters - looking for the much sought-after boletus mushrooms which abound in the beech woodlands.  We saw them for sale in the local supermarket at €20 for a kg!  But everyone collects their own ...

The Pania di Corfino seen from Sillico (as yet unclimbed by us - and Pietro, as far as we know!)

In Sillico village

Old cottage - bothy? sheiling? - in the woods
In among the chestnuts

Back home - pods on the Wisteria ...
